Before First Use

Your tripod may arrive with a light protective oil coating from the manufacturing process. Before using it for the first time, thoroughly wipe down the surface and burn off any excess residue.

After Use

Once cool, wipe clean and apply a light coat of oil before storing in a dry place. Mild steel may develop surface rust if exposed to moisture — this is normal and easily managed with light cleaning and oiling.
