About TJM Metalworks

TJM Metalworks is a small, family-run blacksmith workshop in Saffron Walden, Essex. Every piece we make is hand-forged by Trevor in the workshop, while Rowan keeps everything else running — from packaging and shipping to emails, admin, and everything in between. Just the two of us, doing what we love, since 2019.

How It All Started

After spending many years in retail, Trevor made a life-changing decision in 2009 and found himself working on a beautiful 4,000-acre arable farm in the Hertfordshire countryside. It was here, in the quiet of the farm workshop, that he first discovered the craft of metalwork — spending spare hours making and experimenting, falling in love with the process of turning raw steel into something functional and lasting.

By 2017, the passion had become undeniable. Trevor made the leap to make metalwork his full-time career, moving into a dedicated workshop in Essex where he could spend his working days doing something he truly loves.

TJM Metalworks was born in 2019, and since then we've been designing and hand-forging premium outdoor cooking equipment — fire pits, campfire grills, fire anchors, rotisseries, tripods, and more — all built to last a lifetime.

What We Make & Why

Everything we produce is made by hand, in our Essex workshop, using heavy-gauge mild steel and stainless steel. We don't do mass production. Every fire pit, every grill arm, every tripod is forged individually by Trevor — which means you're getting something genuinely crafted, not just manufactured.

Our products are designed for people who love the outdoors — campers, bushcrafters, garden entertainers, and open-fire cooking enthusiasts. We build our cook station systems to be modular and compatible, so you can start with a fire pit and build out your setup over time with grill arms, skillets, rotisseries, and more.

A Family Business

Trevor is in the workshop forging every piece by hand. Rowan handles the packaging, shipping, customer emails, and all the admin that keeps the business running. Between us, we're involved in every single order from start to finish — which means when you get in touch, you're always speaking to one of us directly.

Thank you for supporting a small, independent British craft business. It means everything to us.
